About a mile South of the Bay Bridge lies one of San Francisco’s legendary street spots, known by skaters around the world as 3rd and Army. Today’s maps actually mark the spot as 3rd and Cesar Chavez St, but the original name still stands from the mid-80’s when local shredders like Tommy Guerrero and Mark Gonzalez reinventing skateboarding by bringing it to he streets. Here they could hit rails, ledges, huge gaps and endless manual sections without being hassled by the police. That still holds true today, making this one of the most popular street skating destinations of all time.
