Mount Vesuvius or Vesuvius, the volcano near Naples (Italy), is an interesting place to explore on Mediterranean cruise. The top part of the mountain is in a national park. The road twists and turns, but it is not particularly dangerous. Excellent views over the bay of Naples and a chance to stand on the top of an active volcano the views are worth the climb to the top.
