Aaliyah, Icon, Introducing, Jackson, Janet, Pink, Show, Usher
i agree….Janet is untouched…both her and Madonna in terms of music style and influence…
Why are y’all idiots worrying about if Aaliyah was an icon or not? Her life was cut short, that should be the issue. Who cares if she was or was not an icon. She was a trend setter, who else was like her in her time, NO ONE. Of course Janet would be looked at as an icon, her body of work is larger and she achieved more success. I don’t understand why people have to comment on irrelevant stuff. The sad part is when Aaliyah was in her prime she was taken from us that’s what’s messed up.
GHETTO PINK FTW
Janet Jackson came out with two albums before the control album. The first two were under the production of her father Joe Jackson. When Janet made control Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis moved her to Minnesota so she could be outs of Los Angeles and on her own to create and focus on her own material. Her father Joe Jackson told her She would never be as big as her brother Michael And if she wanted fame to stick with him. Well as we all know she left the nest and has been successful ever since.
Always wondered why Aaliyah didn’t dance that night
was the jacket meant to stay on myas arm?
Pink wasn’t great, Usher was pretty good but Mya was stunning. Wow! She can move and her body just oozes charisma and attitude. For me Mya’s was the coolest, sexiest and all round best pop dance performance evaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
@ Taylor li… aaliyah definitely should have been dancing pinks part
Aaliyah was definitely the r&b queen back then. NO IFS OR BUTS ABOUT IT.PERIOD.:)
aaliyah should have been up there too along with mya, usher, and pink. she would of fit perfectly!
Back when pink was still African American lol
DAMNNNNNNN! THEY KILLED IT! This is the best tribute ever!
When Pink was black
Pink now she can get her groove on!
Everytime I watch this video, I think to myself that Aaliyah was on her way to a stellar career, Pink, Usher & Mya KILLED the dances, and Janet is so the ICON of our generation.
Aaliyah should have been danceing
Yes, Aaliyah was already being prepped to be the next reigning Queen..
Pink can dance!! love that girl! Great job everyone
Honestly, I don’t even remember Pink and Mya being very fams when Aaliyah was still alive. God I have such a bad memory. Lol
I’m sorry but Miss Jackson is the true Queen of Pop. All hail bitches.
That’s not true that death makes someone an icon. I’m saying she was on her way to becoming iconic and that was robbed of her because she died so early on. You don’t think she had the potential? Everyone had great songwriting and production teams around them.
Janet Jackson is AN ICON and became it by her OWN.Michael had nothing to do with it.she is a hard worker.she works her ass off since she is 7 years old,she was born for that.Michael did not write her songs or create her choreagraphies.Janet writes and coproduces her music.Aaliyah is my bitch i have all her material but she is not an icon.as soon as an artist dies ,he automatically becomes an icon? hell no.i miss baby girl soooo much and i love her soooo much but we need to talk real shit here.
Letoya was not all there mentally. As a black pop R&B artist do you honestly think get climb would have been that steep without her last name. I believe she would get more kudos now but back then it would have been harder for her. Tupac created hundreds of songs.
i can’t believe you said that.without Mike??? so you are pretending that Janet Jackson became what she is because she is Michael Jackson’s sister?if that was the case, why Latoya didn’t make it?why Jermaine didn’t make it? Tupac Shakur was 25 when he died but look what he achieved.he is an icon worldwide recognized.plus don’t teach me Janet story i know it on the fingertips.Aaliyah(Baby girl) was not more than on Janet way.if destiny’s child who were more succesful performed, she should have also.
