Micheal stated repeatedly that Brooke Shields was an intense love. Whereas Diana Ross is simply an unrequited love. There is no comparison. The truth is Diana was not in love with Micheal. A shame because she was perfect for him. However the age gap IS 14 years.
Yes, Brooke also loved him in much the same unconditional manner, and tried always to be with him as he needed it. Micheal did not want a romantic relationship with Brooke. He couldn’t even give her what she needed. She wanted a happy life with a good emotionally involved husband, but Micheal wanted a strong, independent woman to take care of him, and adopt babies with, in a nonsexual relationship. In Brooke, she saw a level headed, brave woman, but he wanted to marry her for selfish reasons.
