Who really knows…but I am thinking that he was speaking to someone in the band and saying something like…pick up the tempo buddy!! Guess that we’ll never know the real answer to that question..but I am sooo impressed that you picked up on that.
Elvis was always directing his band, the choir, the orchestra…..”C’Mon Man”was some kind of direction to somebody in the band…louder, faster, whatever Elvis felt wasn’t what it should be. All his “moves” were directions to the band. He was the best choreographer ever before we knew there were choreographers!
My very favorite version of this because it is live. Of course, I love all the other versions, too. Nobody, NOBODY like him and never will be!!! Still an obsession after all these years and i am 72!!!!! Long time, Baby!!!!
Perhaps the single greatest aspect of the man was his power to sing to each and everyone of us directly. Sheer greatness that we will unfortunately never have the privilege to experience again. I Thank you God for your gift to us, you sent us a soul who contained the power to raise up others and transform this world for the better. Thank you.
