Possessing all the skills needed for rock success, he forged a style of playing that enabled the band to create a varied repertoire of music. This, in turn created longevity, and relevancy. In addition, Richie possessed a very strong vocal technique adding incredible harmonies to Jon’s lead vocals. All this he did while contributing much to the writing process of the band. Whether it be his Fender Stratocaster or his 12 string acoustic Richie always played guitar parts that were memorable and appropriate for the song.
