This is a great cookbook,
This is a great cookbook in my opinion. It has old fashioned recipes that reminded me of home when I was a child. It also tells the last meal that Elvis had eaten, yes this is truly a wonderful recipe book..

|Delicious and accurate southern cooking,
Elvis did not grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. All through his life, he stayed true to his roots and loved a type of southern cooking called “soul food”. Soul food is based on plain and common ingredients found in any southern kitchen no matter how poor your family is. It’s also significantly influenced by African ingredients brought to the US and ways of cooking.
These recipes are good, easy to make, and make me feel just a little closer to my southern heritage even though I don’t live there now. Plus the narrative and insight into the Presely family’s ways is very interesting.

|I love this,
My Mama bought this for me about five years ago for Christmas. It reminded me alot of the dishes she cooked for me as a child. There are a lot of great recipes in here and that I know that Elvis enjoyed.

|Excellent book for diehard fans,
This book is excellent if you are eager to seek out places Elvis frequented throughout his life. Not simply Sun Records or other well-known locations; rather, the non-traditional hangouts. I have brought the book to Memphis and used it as a guide to visiting some out-of-the-way places. Elvis was a lot more than Graceland and Sun. If you are interested in other locations which assisted in his formative years, take this book to Memphis and look up some of the addresses listed. You’ll gain a better appreciation for the King.

|My Thoughts,
Hi:
This is an excellent item to have and to add to your Elvis Presley Collection. It is a very easy read and it helps two know more about
the time when Elvis was young. My dad and Elvis’s dad both work at the shipyards in Pasagla, Miss. which was before my time. If you are wanting to know the History of Mississippi and what it was like during those days in the early 50′s. You need this book to go along with the other books about Elvis Presley. Enjoy. Scarlett

|Elvis is Everywhere!,
My mother is a big Elvis fan and collector of memorbilia, and this is a unique item for the E fan who has everything! It has a lot of fun facts and info on his journeys from the beginnings (his ancestors) all the way to his death. I was excited to see that it lists all his tour dates, including the time I saw him in June 1974 in Louisville with my mom and dad (I was just 3 years old, but I remember it!) It’s packed with photos, tidbits of info, and history! A fun book to check out, even if you’re not an Elvis fan – but even better if you are – a great way to plan a “Elvis was here” road trip!! ;o)
