I always thought he said “I guess it’s the price of love, and the price isn’t right, and the price is cheap,” during this performance.
And of course, there’s the line “I guess it’s the price of love, I know it’s not cheap”, that he screws up by singing “I guess it’s the price of love, and the price isn’t high, and the price is cheap” WTH is that?? it breaks the soul of this great line, wich was supose to tell how hard is love and how expansive/painfull it can be, but no, he turns it into “nah, don’t worry, it’s a bargain, world’s easiest and most simple thing, go ahead”. Dublin 27, Glasgow 18, Chicago 12, really good versions.
I think bono screw up a lil’ bit at some parts of the song, even the edited version released on the dvd, mixed with some parts of vegas concert’s version of the song, is not among the top 5 best performances on the tour (for me). The chorus for example, for gods sake, the only time he sungs it good (in my opnion) is in the first “baby baby baby light my way” of the second chorus, and it was cutted of from the dvd. It’s my favorite song of all time, and it deserved to have a better live record

This is one of my favs as well. I love the line “There is a silence that runs through the house when no one can sleep at all” fucking love it.
