This wasn’t that long after the Heysel disaster so they were paranoid about letting people stand. Fortunately, you got so much out of the concert without needing to jump around (although we did anyway!) and those white lights at 5.16 to 5.35 were damn bright! This is still one of my favourites to crank up the volume and close the eyes to.

you got a point there! Although I wouldn’t say they’re better, but definately on the same level for talent.
I like Iron Maiden too. Got a couple of their albums. They’re the epitome of metal IMO. BUT, Maiden are virtually exclusive to metal. Dire Straits cover many different genres, and with Mark Knopfler’s intelligent lyrics and mastery of music they are very hard to beat

I was there! July 4th 1985, took my Son it was his first live concert. Prince Charles and Lady Diana were there too, she was standing up and dancing to the music.
I don’t know if someone has tried to “refuse” this; trying not to hear it; but it’s simply impossible, it gets into your soul and you are blown away… The best.
