this is a pretty good version but in my opinion its one of those songs that should never be covered like Yesterday by the Beatles or American Girl by Tom Petty, they should just be allowed to remain perfect

Ugh, OK we all know that the original sounded different and had a different feel to it. Brandon even explains that he probably wont do it any justice, but that’s not a cue for idiots to start criticizing him… This version is amazing just as the original. Both have different feels to them and that’s what covering songs is all about, bringing YOUR element to them. What is the point in a cover is it’s gonna sound EXACTLY the same? maybe it’s just me but I heard the Killers version first, and I’ve always preferred it. No matter what though it’s an incredible song, the sentiment “There’s a place for us, you know the movie song.
When you gonna realize it was just that the time was wrong..” gets me every time.
