I’m pretty ashamed of myself right now. I clicked on this video thinking “lemme see how bad this guy is”. I don’t know what made me judge someone by their cover like that, especially given the lyrics of this song. Thank you for reminding me that although I think I am intelligent and open minded, I still have the arrogance and pettiness of a flawed human being. The song was beautiful and so are you.
that’s the thing…. TECHNIQUE. can do so much wonders for a singer. xtina is stubborn.
it was mixed voice. it’s impossible to bring up chest that high, because the note needs a smaller area (the back of the head) to be able to resonate, because the chest is too big.
christina strains the shit out of her voice by pulling it up so high that she can’t go any higher because she would crack. She has never gone higher than an F5, and even that note is a hit and miss, so E5 (even if it’s crackling) is the only safe “extreme high belt” for her. and don’t get me wrong, this guy does it too when he sings, which is why in some parts there’s hints of shoutiness, but he’s adding a little bit of head voice, but needs to add much more.
