“I Will Survive” is a song originally performed by Gloria Gaynor, released in October 1978. It was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris. It received the Grammy Award for Best Disco Recording in 1980, the only year that the award was given. It is ranked #489 on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. The Song was also listed at #97 on Billboard’s Greatest Songs of all time. It has a lot of remake which includes translations to different languages, notably the Korean version sung by Jin Ju and most recently the Charice Pempengco version.

Why can’t I enjoy each person for their own talent?
Why does Charice have to keep “competing” up here? Why doesn’t she just admit she can sing and get on with it?! Or who keeps pitting her against other singers? At this point no-one has to prove to me she is talented. I go in other people’s videos and they are telling me to go listen to Charice, as if I am not aware of her, as if I have not noticed her talent. Is she insecure or are her fans insecure or what? Why does she always (or her fans for her) seem to have to prove herself?
