Billy really struggles here. Perhaps he is sick or in an uncomfortable/intimidating environment.This is certainly nowhere near his best. Just chalk it up to a bad day.

The point being – if this is supposed to be a country album, then Lionel should sing the song like it is a country duet and not like he’s doing Brick House with the Commodores.
And there was someone giving a “come on let’s go” at 2:01 but it doesn’t look like it came from either of the lead singers???
