A beginner’s perspective,
I have to confess I am a beginner, so if you’re an expert my review might not be so helpful. However, as a beginner I have foudn this book very helpful even with my limited guitar experience. I’ve had about a month’s worth of lessons and it takes me much longer than it should to learn a song, but this book has really helped me expand on what I know and be able to play along with the songs I love. It’s been a real confidence booster, even for someone with nascent skills like mine. So, although I still have a lot to learn, I found the TAB really helpful for Sounds of Silence, Mr Tambourine Man and House of the Rising Sun. Although I am still learning and not as smooth as I would like, I am able to follow along with the songs and work on building my skills thanks for the nice notations in the book.

|Good rock sheets,
Have only had this book a short time, but the few songs I’ve tried seem to have the correct chord phrasing, and are fun to play. Fun for a casual guitarist like me, but enough there that it seems likely to be useful to more advanced players.
Has a nice variety of very mellow early rock, to bluesy rock , to some hard rock.

|Good For Beginners – Highly Recommended,
This collection of “Early Rock to the Late 60′s” is a very good collection of songs that are suited to beginning guitar players. My daughter and son are both learning to play guitar and wanted to expand their music collection to include classic rock. The title says “500 Greatest Songs” but there is only music for 61, presented in both Tablature and Standard Notation.
This collection has plenty to choose from for both of them, especially when paired with Selections from Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time: Guitar Classics Volume 2: Classic Rock to Modern Rock (Easy Guitar TAB) (Rolling Stones Classic Guitar).
Highly Recommended!
