Lionel, Lover, Penny, Richie
It’s not just Lionel’s voice. The instrumentals are so well done. The chord mix is so original and interesting. I’ll never forget being in The Gambia travelling inland in a van with our guide Hawkeye in West Africa. He played Lionel’s albums and I realized for the first time how many original great songs he brought to us. I am really impressed. Thank you Lionel Richie.
Hugh Jackman used to cry whenever he heard this song, because his girlfriend (called Penny) dumped him when he was 16!!!
im a metal head, but i know a voice talent when i hear it. Lionel Ritchie dude… you sir have go to be the smoothest voice EVER ! absolutely no exceptions.
i also love this song……
This was such a BIG wedding song back in the days. Lionel’s early solos bring me back to my early childhood. The 80s were SO AWESOME to grow up in-carefree, non-comparable!!! GOD I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
I met my Husband at a night club I had seen him before but we never spoke..I truly feel the words of this song were so true and they did come true… He was SO handsome the following week he sent over a drink and from that day on we have been together .. We will be married 28yrs together 29 . He is my Penny Lover and We Truly Love each other Truly is (Our anniversary song) Play it every Saturday …. I Love You Lionel
@collinshs Whoever you are, couldn’t have said it better. L Rich is a rare talent like Mozart. His sh*t never gets old.
@SlurpeeQueen21 If this song leads to the image of “your Jennifer” Smiling , Then keep it in your heart! Sometimes as time goes by, we find it harder and harder to place the image without A Context. Think of A time the two of you were together laughing and smiling, And there in your minds eye, You have her, Just as you remember! I know, It’s A lousy consolation prize, But It’s often the only one we will ever get until it’s our turn to “cross the bridge of life”!
one of my fav songs thank you 4 postin it xx
