Buy Rick Steve’s Italy instead,
I did not know that this Cinque Terre Snapshot was completely taken from Rick Steve’s Italy book. I had bought both, and wished I hadn’t wasted my money on this one. It’s the EXACT same material from Rick’s Italy book. PLEASE PLEASE save your $8.95 and just buy the Italy book, which again, and I cannot emphasize enough, has a section on CInque Terre that is COMPLETELY IDENTICAL to this booklet. I wish there was some description here on Amazon that had said “FYI youre wasting your money on this book, just pay the damn 5 dollars more for an even better book that already contains this information plus much more!”…which is quite funny because when I actually got the Cinque Terre booklet, the back cover said “This 128-page Shapshot guide is excerpted from Rick Steves’ Itally 2011″. WHY WASN’T THIS ON AMAZON’S DESCRIPTION?!?!
Anyways, with that said, Steves’ Cinque Terre section is AMAZING. He puts all the important information you need to know about this area in here. His descriptions of the 5 terraces of Cinque Terre (hence the name..) are very informative, and he explains what each of the areas are known for ( ie deep sea diving cliffs beach wine small town etc) and lists the restaurants and sleeping areas in each one. He already lets you know that you can probably find better deals from other renters, but they most likely may not be able to speak English. There’s also information about the surrounding riviera towns here. Definitely pick up a Rick Steve’s book before your trip and read it at least 3 months in advance. And by all means please get the Rick Steves Italy book instead, unless you plan to only go to Cinque Terre, and miss out on the rest of the country.
5 stars for Rick Steves, none for this retarded Xeroxed booklet.

|Good Information,
I found a lot of good helpful information in this book not only on CinqueTerre But Italy in general, with it being my first time there. I did not know that I was getting just a except from the larger Italy 2010 book that Rick Steves also has out, otherwise I wouldn’t of gotten both, because it is the exact same information as the larger book. But overall I was very please!

|Great travel guide – highly recommend,
I bought the Rick Steves guides for a recent 2 week trip to Italy and they made the trip so easy. The guides are easy to figure out, have great recommendations on places to eat, sleep, see. The walk-though tours of various museums are great (& save you money on an audio guide – especially if you use in combo with his Italy podcasts). The descriptions and maps are easy to follow too. We ate at several of his recommended restaurants and were never disappointed. The guides are also light weight so you can easily carry them around all day for easy reference. I highly recommend these to anyone planning a trip to Italy (we used the Venice, Rome, Cinque Terre & Almafi Coast guide as well as the Italian Phrasebook & the free pod-casts).
Be sure to visit the Il Pirite in Vernazza – and go early to be sure you can get a Panzetta.
