Wallace Neff: Architect of California’s Golden Age (California Architecture & Architects)
Wallace Neff: Architect of California’s Golden Age (California Architecture & Architects)
At last, here is a reprint of the major monograph on one of California’s most distinguished and influential architects. Wallace Neff was responsible for many of the houses that have become icons of California domestic architecture. Many of his houses used Mediterranean vernacular touches, but they all bore the stamp of Neff’s own particular design genius. Well-illustrated with color and black and white photographs, plans, and renderings, this book is an essential addition to the library of anyone interested in how California’s domestic architectural vocabulary came to exist.

The book on Wallace Neff, Master of Proportion,
A good look at the oeuvre of Wallace Neff, an architect who could combine in his houses a sense of profound tranquility, dynamism, and whimsy. He was truly a master of proportion. Sadly, as with all of the books published by Hennessey & Ingalls, it suffers from inferior printing & photo reproduction, but the content is rich, the writing good. I’d recommend it.
