I bought two of these for Christmas gifts for two daughters – one right out of law school, the other looking to change jobs. Both were challenged by having to start with their values and belief systems (not anything the school career placement offices ever had them do!) But it works. They are more focused, optimistic and are equipped with resumes and and an action plan that make them stand out in the crowd. So far one has gotten that new job and the other is still looking. But the emotional roller coaster has been tamed and they are both better women for the insight they gained into themselves. After having the pleasure of meeting the author, Jay Block, in person after attending a career building workshop for a women’s initiative group at my employer, I thought nothing compared to the motivational words he shared with us in person. But, after reading his book titled “101 Best Ways to Land a Job in Troubled Times”, I am sure that the book is definitely the next best thing. This is not your average career building guide. In this book, Jay not only teaches you the tools to landing a job and building and managing your career, he also gives you the right tools to take charge of you life. His message, “Change your thinking, change your life.” I recommend this book to everyone not just jobseekers. Reading it will change your life.
