[HD] Tony Bennett & Carrie Underwood – It Had To Be You – Duets II
Multiple Grammy Award-winning musical sensations Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood lend their amazing vocals to a song first published in 1924, the torch song “It Had To Be You”. Bennett and Underwood will both perform on the second season premiere of the cop show “Blue Bloods” at 9 pm Friday, Sept. 23 on the CBS Television Network. They will play themselves when they perform at a fundraiser that Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and Erin Reagan-Boyle (Bridget Moynahan) are attending for the newly appointed mayor. Bennett and Underwood greet the Reagans before performing a duet of “It Had To Be You” for the crowd.
so different from how she covers say a patsy cline song you can’t tell it’s her except for the perfection part. Liker her version of How Great thou Art which is about to hit 8 million views , shes great
Most people don’t think about it but we all know Carrie has only been here for 6 years yet sounds like she has been doing it for 20 years. An outstanding rendition of a great song with Tony. Carrie is the best music has to offer!!!!
She is singing with the master of the jazzy bluesy voice this is tony’s domain, and she is perfect.
I love the Carrie,s voice. Great duet.
Omg i love the idea of non-jazz artists suddenly singing jazz. So new, so cool!
carrie and tony both sound great in this song … carries voice sounds so pure and beautiful
)
@topher9200 … i agree!!! shes amazing
What I love about these songs with Tony Bennettis that it finally shows me why some of these artists are even in the music world. They actually have truly beautiful voices.
Like what Randy always says, when you can sing, you sing anything, even the phone book…
My favorites so far in this album, Mariah, Carrie (She sound so not like her), surprisingly Lady Gaga, and Amy…
Love her. Love here. LOVE HER!!!! I mean really who in this business has more class and talent than Carrie Underwood??
@RainHNg I agree 100% – I have 1,000s of cds but have never heard someone so skilled at adapting to the song/genre… country, pop, rock, standards.. Carrie does it all in the most amazing fashion.
@morgan101967 What Carrie did was match Tony’s tone exactly, neither was either was higher than other. I like how Carrie does so easily. She figured it was Tony’s song and didn’t want to outdo him. Which what I call simply respect without being showy about it. But that is normal for Carrie.
I am a HUGE CARRIE FAN! I’m not a fan of this kind of music but i have to say i might like it now. Carries voice is amazing and she did a great job! She can sing anything!!
re: Duets II — Hey, folks. Hold onto your wallets for a few weeks and wait for the expanded CD which has two extra (and extra special!) Duets: (1) “When I Wish Upon a Star” with Jackie Evancho; and (2) “I Left My Heart in San Fransisco” with Judy Garland — 17 tracks become 19 !!. You don’t want to miss out on those two great duets!! And no sense buying the album twice.
I was a bit scared about this song when I first heard about it cos as much as I adore Carrie, jazz is not my genre at all. But I have to say I really like this song! I especially adore Carrie’s vocals, my gosh she sounds divine! She really can sing anything – country, rock, Christian hymn type songs and now she can add jazz to the ever-growing list!
Carrie is a legend in the making and started May 25, 2005.
I really like how she adapts her voice into the song that she cover. That’s probably why IMO all the songs that she covered sounds so good and close to original yet she still manages to inject her characteristic (in a subtle way) into the songs.
She has both good voice and good control…an all around singer
Thanks for sharing this /
Carrie voice sounds so pure & clear… I was a bit surprised that her tone is a bit higher than expected, almost childlike? I am a huge CU fan so looking forwarding to buying the track. Honestly, I expected her voice to bed a bit stronger, lower but she went for the classy, soft, pure performance which is nice and understated. I guess Carrie didn’t think it necessary to power this song like Undo It LOL.
Someday I hope Carrie puts out a rock cover song cd – that would be insance !!!
