It seems in some ways so long ago, but I can still remember it so well. I was lucky enough to have been one of the athletes there at the end of a wonderful experience.
The only musical experience that beat this for us was when the Beach Boys played a live gig for us in the athletes village towards the end of the Games. That made it feel a bit like touching history and being part of it.
Now as age plays an increasing part, nothing will erase those memories for me.
Too bad the Soviets were being such pissy little girlie men….they missed a hell of a party. Remember watching this live. Epic fun! Something special about those two weeks in 1984.
This was one incredible experience. I was one of the break dancer who performed at this activity. I was so lucky because I was the one first dancer coming out in the 2 lines (left side)when all break dancers came out with Lionel. Not bad for a Latino guy (Puerto Rico). We practice so much for this performance and during our breaks they were alot of breaking battles(dancing competitions) which was exciting also. I cant describe the RUSh when we went out throught the aisle n seen croudn stage.
I watched this on TV at my Aunt’s while my mom was there (I was 11). I’ve always remembered the breaking…especially the windmills and the head spinning. It was soooo cool to see it again. Thanks!!!!
all night long!!!!!!!
I watched this live when I was 13 years old. I was really taken back by the entire spectacle!
