The little studio versions of this track like the Grey Whistle Test version are much better and more intimate than the over-the-top stadium arena versions with things like horns in them. For tracks like Brothers in Arms, yes, for little pub numbers like this one, intimacy is key.
This video is wonderful…..one of the greatest songs of all time performed when Dire Straits was hungry …..for me always better than the later stadium performances that never had the same soul.
