Hollywood seems to be taking pages out of our Favorite Fairytales Lately with Snow White, Hansel and Gretel and Even Red Riding Hood getting the big screen Treatment. Those are definitely some big shoes to fill but luckily the Casting Confirmations we’ve gotten so far look pretty exciting. Relativity has confirmed that Julia Roberts will Star as the Evil Queen in their version of The Brothers Grimm: Snow White. The rumor has been heating up for sometime but they have now Cast Roberts and set the release date for June 29th 2012. If your keeping track, that puts Relativities Snow White 6 months ahead of the release plan for universal’s version called Snow White and the Huntsman. In other fairy tale Casting News, Famke Jansson will be playing the Leader of the Witches in the Tommy Wirkola-directed Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters at Paramount Pictures. Jansson Joins both Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton who have already been cast as Hansel and Gretal in the tale that takes place 15 years after their escape from the gingerbread house. @stiras1 well, she’s making this movie, so I think she also wants to act. She looked SO good in her last movie- The Chameleon. Really stunning. I agree, she was meant to be in front of the camera, if only for that beautiful face (but love her acting as well!)
@creejay Yes! That’s great! I mean if that is what she wants. Who knows? Maybe she really wants to direct from now on. But I would love it if she was acting. Famke was made to be in front of the camera. ;D
@stiras1 Famke actually explained recently that she had to take a 2 yr break from acting (!) in order to write, produce, and direct her first film, Bringing Up Bobby. The movie stars Milla Jovovich, Marcia Cross, and Bill Pulman and will premiere this year! So she will probably be acting more now too!
I bet a lot of people have kind of caught on to the fact that fairy tales are making comebacks in modern days.

OMG why did I stumble over the news that Famke is doing another movie. I love her and now I have to wait like forever. Much better just going “oh there is anohter Famke movie. I’m going to see that” instread of actually having to wait for them to film it, edit it and so on. Why the waiting????

can’t wait to see these movies, what happened to beauty and the beast? yes I know it has already been made into a few different things but I want to see what someone could do with it now.

@pantstelly93 it does indeed look this way at first, but i guess it depends on how much you love to read and watch stuff cos if you look closer there isn’t anything that original about it. although it is a remarkable film indeed
