This song carries a sentiment that has echoed through history. How can I get a message to the person I love? It’s romantic, it’s heartfelt and it’s often desperate. A message in a bottle to an island on the horizon, a letter, a telegram perhaps, maybe a long distance call involving an incomprehensible international operators who only have pidgin English…
It’s different now, you just send a text.
“I love you. I just had to tell you”
“I know, you said before, now fuck off will you I’m busy.”
I have always loved this song. In the 1960′s I would play it over and over. I didn’t realize until much later that all of the Bee Gees songs that were my favorites were songs that had Robin as the lead voice. The group broke up because Barry insisted that he would be the lead. Watch closely and you can see Barry try to make this his, and Robin’s reaction!
That’s “I love you”.
you have to admit. they nailed that!
@esbuttercup55 people stopped believing and dreaming….they have nothing to stick to, no values = no dreams = no path in life=lost people=insecurity
@ their very best song.
