London Bed and Breakfast

My Stay at a London Bed and Breakfast.

One of my favorite places to visit in the whole world is England, and whenever I travel to the U.K., I always make it a point to stay at a London bed and breakfast. This was what I did on my first trip to the country, and it has worked out beautifully ever since. I made made my first visit to the country back in 2000. I had never even been abroad at the time, and I really had no idea what I was doing when I got there. I had researched several places to stay and found a London bed and breakfast on the south side of the city that seemed to be quite respectable and was available at a reasonable price.

I was so glad that I made that choice once I got there, because I have stayed at hotels on occasion while in England and it just does not have the same feel as a bed and breakfast. In other words, you really don’t get the impression that you are in England when you stay in a hotel at least in a big chain.

I will never forget that first night in my London bed and breakfast, because it was relatively warm by English standards and I actually slept with the window open. I could see out over an orchard in the back, and a cool breeze filled my room. I slept like a baby that night, and the next morning enjoyed a traditional full English breakfast. This meal consisted of bacon, eggs, sausage and toast, but it had a few things that made it uniquely British baked beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. I had a hot cup of tea and some orange juice with the breakfast and then I was on my way.

I went out and did some sight-seeing throughout the city, and then on the way home stopped at a local pub. Everyone was very welcoming, and I had a great time talking to people about my country and my thoughts on the U.K.
When I got back to the bed and breakfast that evening, I was pretty wiped out and decided to hit the sack kind of early. I really started to become immersed in British culture, which is exactly what I try to do whenever I make a trip anywhere.

I have always believed in the saying, When in Rome, do as the Romans do, and I wanted to make sure that I was experiencing something very English when I made my trip. Staying in a London bed and breakfast allowed me to do just that and really enhanced my visit in a way that staying some place else probably would not have.
