this book is so different to the film. It is so much better, the film shows cee and robbie as the main characters but in the book Briony is obviously the protagonist. And she doesn’t deliberately wrongly convict Robbie, she does it because she believes it is robbie.
McEwan doesn’t show Briony as completely guilty, he puts it down to her youth and imagination. I mean she isn’t a lovely character but she is not horrible. If you love the film you will love the book more.
I wept for this movie. I’ve ordered the book from Amazon. Would be getting it soon. A lot of things appeared in the movie which according to the author is an add up to pease the ired readers.
keira and james’ are not only fantastic actors, but as an american, listening to their speaking voices is just incredible. i just love their accents, they are so soothing to me.

James & Keira weren’t my favourites either, I guess Keira’s too famous that I can’t see past her stardom.

my favourite movie, period! james and keira are flawless in it, they make such an awesome couple too! (pity it’s only in the reel world) seriously, such a though provoking movie. they sure did they book justice! whoever hasn’t ought to read the book. it’s my favourite book too.
is it just me, or is this interviewer pretty good? i think he’s really good at dealing with the actors, actually.
